If diagnosed early, prostate cancer has excellent cure rates. Most of the 11,000 lives lost in the UK every year to prostate cancer can be saved. We have funded pioneering research which has led to the development of a EN2 urine test that detects the disease more accurately than the current PSA test. We now need £100,000 to carry on this work - to identify EN2 and other biomarkers in exosomes, tiny particles that are shed by prostate cancer cells. Their make-up can reveal how aggressive the cancer is and determine the type of treatment needed.
We are raising funds for Professor Hardev Pandha's brilliant team who are conducting ground-breaking research into a highly accurate and reliable diagnostic test for prostate cancer.
